2009 in pictures

I loved it when Meredith did a year in pictures for 2008, and copied her then. I loved it again when she did it for 2009 and am going to copy her again!

2009 was a very eventful year for me. It is actually a bit hard for me to keep it all straight...where was I when? What month was that? Wedding? Job? Norway, U.S.?

Let's see...in January, I was surviving my first Norwegian winter and did quite a bit of skiing with Lars:
In February, I was, well...still surviving the winter. This time I had good company when my classmates and I took a break from class and had a Vinteraktivitetsdag (winter activities day):

March...yep, you guessed it--surviving on! This time it was cheering on Lars' dad at a huge ski race (Birkebeinerrennet):
In April, the sun came out and so did I. I quit my Norwegian class and set out to explore the world around me:

In May, Lars got to test out his bunad for the first time. 17. Mai in Hamar:

I split June between my little apartment in Hamar and my little apartment back home in the U.S. I spent a lot of time with family and friends, and got a job at Sheila's Portside Restaurant.

In July, Lars came to visit to attend my brother's wedding.

August was a month of adventures. I checked out a lot of live music and visited my cousin in Portland.

In September, Iselin came to visit from Norway and her and I were hardcore tourists for a week!

And October, well you know, that is Halloween time. Oh, and wedding time.

Come November, I was packing my bags again--back to Norway. I brought with me a nice American tradition: Thanksgiving.

And I ended the year in Tynset, celebrating Christmas and New Year's with Lars' family.

Dang that was a good year. Maybe not so full of financial gain or stability, but definitely full of wonderful memories and priceless experiences.

Here's to that and more in 2010!
