A taste of summer

Summer hasn't really existed all that much for me this year. When the sun is shining, we are working harder since everyone wants to grab a bite to eat in the sunshine (both the restaurants I run have fairly large outdoor seating areas).

So kicking off our vacation by driving to Sweden to hang at our friend's cabin was a much needed taste of summer, to put it lightly.

And when I say cabin, or hytte, I actually mean lake house.

We stayed there for two night and got this little cabin all to ourselves.

We swam in the lake, drank wine, barbecued, drank beer, played lawn games, read books, drank more wine and ate more food.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time.

It was fantastic, and the perfect start to a pretty incredible vacation.
